Coronado In Service Media Center Resources

February 13, 2007

We’d like to see teachers and students using the library catalogs.  If you want to know if we have a book or DVD – look at the catalog.  It also tells you if the book is in and where it is located. You can also check the Scottsdale Public Library for books and videos. If you find one you want to order, it can be sent bt interschool mail. It takes about 4 days of lead time.  Here’s where it would be beneficial to collaborate with the librarian on assignments.  We are here to help by organizing materials, showing websites, teaching classes how to use databases to research – we go – BG – Beyond Google.  These databases enable students to analyze and evaluate information – not just find words and print them.  Access to the library means students can use books and magazines as well as on line resources.

Access Coronado Media Center web page –  http://ex.susd.org/lhibbert/

Use Coronado Destiny – to check catalogs for books, videos and webpaths.

We can make a resource list for teachers or students to access book lists from the library.

We have many very expensive databases that can be used for research.
